Troubleshooting

My account shows "Disconnected" - what do I do?

Check these in order:

  1. Is MetaTrader 5 open and running?
  2. Is the MT5 Reporter EA attached to a chart?
  3. Is AutoTrading enabled (green button in MT5)?
  4. Check MT5 Experts tab for error messages
  5. Verify API key and Account ID are correct

See our EA Setup Guide for detailed troubleshooting.

Data is delayed or not updating

Possible causes:

  • Normal delay: Data syncs every 30 seconds. Check "Last Sync" timestamp.
  • MT5 closed: EA stops sending data when MT5 is closed.
  • Network issue: Check internet connection and firewall.
  • EA stopped: Re-attach EA or restart MT5.
I lost my API key - what now?

API keys are shown only once for security. To get a new one:

  1. Go to Accounts ? Your Account
  2. Click "Revoke API Key" (invalidates old key)
  3. Click "Generate New API Key"
  4. Copy the new key immediately
  5. Update MT5 Reporter EA with new key
Balance/Equity doesn't match MT5

This can happen if:

  • Recent sync: Wait 30 seconds for next update
  • Multiple terminals: Ensure all MT5 instances are syncing
  • Time zone difference: Fintora uses UTC, MT5 may show broker time
  • Pending orders: Fintora shows actual balance, not margin used

Hard refresh (Ctrl+F5) if numbers seem stuck.

Can't download reports / getting errors

Solutions:

  • Check if you have trades in the selected date range
  • Try a different browser (Chrome/Firefox recommended)
  • Disable ad blockers temporarily
  • Clear browser cache and retry
  • Contact support if issue persists
